Three ways to get Instagram posts into Discord

Posting to Discord is easy in every approach. The difference is how new posts are found, how late an alert can be, and who maintains it.

• A DIY webhook script. The Discord webhook is free; finding the posts is the project. Meta's Graph API has no push for other accounts' posts and no access to Stories of accounts you don't manage, so you build and maintain the collector, and your check interval sets how late an alert can be.
• Scheduled RSS or automation bots. They check a source on a timer and forward what they find. An alert is only as fresh as the last check, and a Story deleted between checks can be missed.
• A managed real-time bot (1322). Each new post or Story is detected around a 350ms median (observed, not an SLA; method on the speed page) and posted to your channel as soon as it is detected. Nothing to host.

How to set up the 1322 Instagram Discord bot

1. Copy your Discord server ID. Instagram checkout asks for it (17 to 20 digits) and shows how to copy it with Discord's Developer Mode.
2. Pick a plan: Lite $300/month for 5 accounts, Standard $550 for 15, Pro $750 for 30, all with the bot. See pricing.
3. Add the bot with the dashboard's Add Instagram Bot to Server button, and let it view the channel, send messages, embed links and read message history (a Story's video link is posted as a reply).
4. Set a default channel with /ig_set_default_channel or the dashboard's Default Channel ID field. An account with no channel of its own and no default is not posted anywhere.
5. Add accounts with /ig_add user:examplebrand; add channel:#brand-watch to route one elsewhere.

With no roles set, any server member can add, remove and list. Commands only work in the server tied to an active subscription ("Server Not Authorized" or "Subscription Expired" otherwise). Discord delivery can be switched off and on from the dashboard, with a 6-hour cooldown.

What triggers an alert

New photo posts, video posts, Reels and carousels arrive as an embed titled "@user posted a photo on instagram" (or video, reel, carousel), and new Stories as "@user posted a story on instagram". Why Stories need live capture is covered in the Instagram Story tracking guide.

• The embed: @handle and profile picture linked to the profile, a post link, the caption with clickable @mentions, the post time, the carousel item count, and Mentions and Hashtags fields (up to 25 each, tagged users included).
• Media: a single image shows in the embed; carousel images are split into galleries of up to four. Videos are not uploaded as files: each follows as a link message ("• [Video]", or "• [Video 2/3]" in a carousel, up to nine), and a Story's video link replies to its embed.
• No pings: alerts never mention a role, @everyone or @here.
• No backfill: an added account's latest post is recorded without an alert, so nothing older is re-sent.
• Not covered: comments, DMs, highlights and live broadcasts are not tracked.
• WebSocket and API only: Collab, Paid partnership, Pinned and Location context is on the WebSocket and API event, not the Discord embed.
